This week Guest Sessions continued at University of Chester’s Warrington Campus
Curtis Jobling was the latest to attend the The University of Chester’s Warirngton Campus Guest Sessions.
Curtis is the creator of the popular and famous TV Show ‘Bob the Builder’ that was nominated and winner of BAFTA from 1997, and the author of several books for children. He lives in Cheshire with his partner, Emma, among their children and pets.
Working hard on ‘Wallace & Gromit’ and ‘Mars Attacks!’, lead the way Curtis to start drawing the design of the BAFTA winning ‘Bob’. There are numerous animated series made by Curtis Jobling such as: ‘Frankenstein’s Cat’ or ‘Raa Raa the Noisy Lion’ can be watched on the BBC.

Curtis Jobling came to speak to students. His hour talk was jam packed with great advice. How to get started in the competitive creative industries. How to make contacts. How to pitch for work. It was an entertaining talk.
He even drew Bob the Builder and three other characters he’s famous for. He did a quiz. He also read from one of his latest book – you could hear a pin drop in that part because it totally captivated the audience. He then took questions and signed some of his books and added a complimentary doodle.
Programme Leader Michelle Ponting said “I really enjoyed the talk. I think the students got a lot out of it. I loved the fact he drew us some doodles too.”
